Dublin, Ireland, 27 November 2012 – Over 70 delegates from leading companies and public sector departments attended a milestone Video Conferencing and Unified Communications event this week, at Microsoft’s buildings in Leopardstown.
The event, held on 27 November, featured seminar-style talks and live product demonstrations. It centred around Polycom’s raft of game-changing announcements on 8 October, which includes:
- Providing the highest quality, secure and scalable video communication, with the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Using standards-based interoperability to unite video “islands” for secure, enterprise-grade B2B and B2C video collaboration (Including Skype, Facebook, and Google Talk).
Polycom’s strategic alliance with Microsoft was also highlighted during the event, with Polycom’s ‘CX’ range of Video Conferencing and Voice over IP (VoIP) devices being specifically optimised for Microsoft Lync.
The seminars culminated with an excellent presentation from the keynote speaker Gerry Forde, IT Manager of Lakeland Dairies, about his company’s experience deploying Video Conferencing and Microsoft Lync, and the business benefits of the Unified Communications solution.
Managing Director of Videnda Distribution, Sean Holohan, said of the seminars: “We are delighted with the turnout for this milestone event. Costs savings and efficiency gains have never been more important for organisations, and many are rightfully looking to Polycom’s HD solutions as a way to achieve that. We’d like to thank all the delegates, and look forward to working closely with them in the near future.”
